Nolan Green (Eccleston) is going to die in five days. A recluse, a writer, a bit of an alcoholic and a recovering romantic, he has no idea that his life will soon be over. Grace (Piper) is a Grim Reaper. To anyone she would seem like a normal, beautiful London town girl but it’s her job to take orders from her faceless superiors above and befriend humans who are about to die during the last five days of their lives.

Nolan meets Grace in an old book store on a rainy day. She makes his cold heart skip a beat. They have an instant connection, one that quickly deepens into something beyond friendship over the next one hundred and twenty hours.

Grace isn’t meant to do more than lead her assignments into the afterlife, keep them company during their last days. But the more time she spends with Nolan the harder it becomes to imagine letting him go. Soon she’s desperate to keep him for herself, and is torn between this man and the only way she’s ever known.
